Wound Care

Wound care in Houston, TX. Cleaning and dressings in Spanish, with affordable pricing.

Some wounds aren't resolved in a single visit. A minor burn, a wound after surgery, a large scrape or a sore that's slow to close need cleanings and dressing changes until they heal. At Clínica Hispana Cruz 4 we provide that wound care in Spanish, without an appointment, and watch that the wound progresses as it should.

What we treat

  • Wounds after surgery or a procedure
  • Minor kitchen or work burns
  • Large scrapes and wounds that left skin exposed
  • Sores or ulcers that are slow to close, especially on the feet or legs
  • Wounds that became infected after other treatment

What a wound care visit looks like

The old dressing comes off and the wound is examined: size, color, drainage and any sign of infection. It's cleaned with saline and covered with the right dressing for that kind of wound. We tell you how often to return and how to care for it between visits.

Patients with diabetes

Foot wounds in someone with diabetes can worsen quickly and painlessly, because sensation is reduced. Check your feet every day and, at any cut, blister or color change, get seen promptly. In these cases we also check your blood sugar control, since poor control slows healing.

Signs something isn't right

  • Redness spreading around the wound
  • Pus, a bad smell or more drainage than before
  • Pain that increases instead of easing
  • Fever or chills
  • A wound that shows no improvement after two weeks

Care at home

Wash your hands before touching the dressing, keep it dry if you were told to, and don't apply creams or remedies we haven't recommended. Eating well and not smoking help the skin rebuild.
