Gynecology Care: Pap Smear & Cultures

Gynecology care in Houston, TX: Pap smear, vaginal cultures and infection treatment. In Spanish, with affordable pricing.

Itching, burning, an unusual discharge or a Pap smear that's due: these are visits many women put off because they're hard to explain or they don't know where to go. At Clínica Hispana Cruz 4 our medical team handles them in Spanish, in a private exam room, without an appointment and with a clear price before we start.

What we treat

  • Pap smears and routine gynecological checkups
  • Vaginal cultures when there's discharge, odor or discomfort
  • Treatment for yeast and bacterial infections
  • Testing for sexually transmitted infections
  • Pregnancy testing and guidance on next steps
  • Birth control options and removal of the arm implant

What the visit looks like

First we talk: what you're feeling, since when, what your periods are like and what method you use. Then comes the exam, always explained beforehand and with the door closed. If a culture or Pap smear is needed, the sample is taken right then and we let you know as soon as the results come in. You're welcome to bring someone along if that makes you more comfortable.

How often to get a Pap smear

From age 21, every three years if results are normal. From 30 on it can be paired with human papillomavirus testing and spaced out further. If you have symptoms, don't wait until it's due.

How to prepare

Ideally come when you're not on your period and avoid douching, vaginal suppositories or sex for two days beforehand, since they affect the sample.

Most gynecological concerns are resolved here. We hand over your results explained in Spanish so everything is clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

It's better to wait until your period ends, since blood makes the sample harder to read. If your symptoms can't wait, come in anyway and we'll assess you.

Get checked instead of self-treating: over-the-counter suppositories can hide the cause. A culture identifies the type of infection so you get a treatment that actually clears it.

Yes. If you have a new partner, notice sores or unusual discharge, or just want peace of mind, testing is ordered at the same visit and results are handled in full confidence.
