Pregnancy Testing & Confirmation

Pregnancy testing and confirmation in Houston, TX. Reliable tests and guidance in Spanish, with affordable pricing.

A late period, morning nausea or a home test with a faint second line: when a pregnancy is in question, it's best to confirm it early. At Clínica Hispana Cruz 4 we test during the visit, the medical team explains the result in Spanish and guides you on what comes next, privately and without judgment.

Urine or blood

A urine test detects the pregnancy hormone, called hCG, and is very reliable from the first day of a missed period. A blood test can pick it up a few days earlier and, when measured as a quantity, helps show whether a pregnancy is progressing normally if there's bleeding or pain. The doctor tells you which one fits your situation.

For a clearer result

  • If you can, use your first morning urine, which is more concentrated
  • If the test is negative but your period still hasn't come, repeat it in a week
  • Some fertility medications can affect the result; tell us if you take them

If the result is positive

We explain roughly how many weeks along you may be and what to do in the first days: start folic acid, review your medications, stop alcohol and tobacco. An early ultrasound confirms the pregnancy is inside the uterus and shows the heartbeat.

Signs that shouldn't wait

Severe pain on one side of the belly, heavy bleeding, dizziness or fainting with a positive test can point to a pregnancy outside the uterus. That's an emergency: go to the ER or call 911.

If the result is negative

If you're not trying to conceive, it's a good moment to talk about birth control. If you are, we can go over which tests and habits help before you start trying.

Frequently Asked Questions

From the day your period is late, a urine test gives a trustworthy answer. Blood testing can catch it several days earlier. If you're unsure of your dates, the doctor tells you which fits.

A second line, even a faint one, almost always means pregnancy. It's worth confirming at a visit, especially if there's bleeding or pain.

We confirm the pregnancy, give you first steps and can do an early ultrasound.
