Blood Tests | Lab

Blood tests in Houston, TX: CBC, chemistry, glucose, cholesterol and more. Results in Spanish, with affordable pricing.

Having a lab inside the clinic changes the visit: the doctor examines you, orders the tests you need and the sample is drawn right then, without sending you to another building or asking you to come back just for the needle. Results come back quickly and the medical team explains them in Spanish.

Tests we order most

  • Complete blood count: red and white cells and platelets, for anemia or infection
  • Chemistry and metabolic panel: glucose, kidneys, liver and body salts
  • Hemoglobin A1C, the average blood sugar over the past three months
  • Lipid panel: cholesterol and triglycerides
  • Thyroid function (TSH)
  • Others as needed, such as PSA for men or blood pregnancy tests

When lab work makes sense

  • At the yearly checkup, based on age and family history
  • To track diabetes, high blood pressure or cholesterol every few months
  • With fatigue, weight loss, excessive thirst or other unexplained symptoms
  • For work, school or immigration exams that require specific tests

How to prepare

Fasting glucose and triglycerides need an overnight fast of 8 to 12 hours; plain water is fine. A1C, the blood count and TSH don't require fasting. Take your usual medications unless the doctor says otherwise, and if you use insulin ask how to adjust it that day.

The blood draw

It's a quick stick in the arm that takes under a minute. If needles scare you or you've fainted before, tell us and we'll do it with you lying down. Drinking water from the morning on makes the vein easier to find.

A clear price

We tell you what each test costs before drawing the sample, no insurance needed. Our promotions page lists fixed-price lab-and-visit packages.
